NABSA provides NMR (300 and 600 MHz) and Mass
spectral (low resolution EI, CI, ESI) analysis
services from the University of Botswana in Gaborone.
African scientists who wish to benefit from
NABSA services need to note the following.
Make arrangements with the coordinator
or with one of the contact persons (Dr M. Bezabih
for NMR and Dr M.M. Nindi for MS services) prior
to sending samples for analysis. Request forms must be filled for each samples. Please find the form in pdf format for NMR Spectra and Mass Spectra.
Participating NABSA Centres are
not involved in the analysis of narcotics and
commercial samples.
Samples should be carefully and
properly packed, confirming to Post Office and
courier regulations and clearly marking them
as non-toxic and non-commercial research samples.
Each Center shall carry out the
analysis as accurately as possible, but shall
not be held accountable, nor shall it be sued
by those receiving services on any aspect of
the results.
Samples will not be returned unless
prior arrangements are made with the NABSA Centre.
Scientists, upon receiving results
of analysis of their samples are required to
confirm receipt of spectra.
Any communication in the form
of publication or presentation that is based
on data received from a NABSA Centre should be
acknowledged in the following way: "We gratefully acknowledge the assistance
in NMR and MS spectral analysis at the University
of Botswana under the auspices of the Network for
Analytical and Bioassay Services in Africa (NABSA)".
